George made his first six pumps as display models and stock. He sold two of them and made two new once immediately after selling them to replenish his stock. Good work George!

During Jacana’s 3 weeks technical training for the selected entrepreneurs in the water sector George was a good time manager. He paid adequate attention to the instructors and could easily comprehend and grasp concepts. As a competent welder he successfully acquired skills in fabrication of the following technologies:

  • Auger
  • Soil punch
  • Bailer (Mzuzu type)
  • EMAS pump
  • Rope pump Model 1 and Model 4

George Chulu druing business trainingGeorge runs a welding workshop in Kapata area of Chipata town for more than 10 year. During his service George had the opportunity to train students from Government institutions. His quality delivery has enabled him to get contracts and assignments from Government and nongovernmental organisations. During the Jacana basic training he exhibited motivation, perseverance and eagerness to learn. At this moment he wants to expand his business by making rope pumps and oxcarts.

Jacana believes that George has the potential to become a great entrepreneur and serve as a role model for fellow Zambians. Therefore Jacana wants to train George technically on how to make rope pumps. To be able to train George we need your financial help. Every small amount is more than welcome.
