Jacana has been working with Skat Foundation from Switzerland for years. In June 2024, Skat made a video about practical examples in Petauke and surroundings. The team in Petauke worked very hard to realize Petauke SMART training center. The video below shows some of the results.

Jacana is establishing a Zambian wide supply chain for affordable portable solar pumps. Currently these pumps are sold at K4,500. The pumps are light weight, have dry-run, over- and under-voltage protection and come with 2x80W solar panel, cable and pipe.

Jacana is looking for an assistant project manager for this project.
|
As assistant project manager you will be responsible for communication with involved organisations like distributors, NGOs and shopkeepers.

There is still room for the VES training
The interest in the borehole siting training was so great that we had to disappoint a number of people. For people who are willing to travel to Chipata and pay for their own accommodation, Jacana will soon organize an extra training. Registration is possible here.

New Dutch board member
Jacana warmly welcomes Annemarieke Maltha as a new board member in the Netherlands.

Annemarieke has previously been involved in a project in the SMART Centre Tanzania.

The impact of Jacana's work on local communities, their thorough and transparent way of working and their openness to share their knowledge are the most important reasons for her to become a board member.
